Nota d'usoSi usa to assure con il significato di “assicurare” a qualcuno che qualcosa è vero, è certo, soprattutto per dissipare dubbi e preoccupazioni: I assure you that the statistics quoted are entirely correct, ti assicuro che le statistiche citate sono assolutamente corrette. To ensure è un termine più formale; significa “rendere certo, garantire” qualcosa, assicurandosi che questa accada come previsto o in maniera conforme alle aspettative: A judge has been appointed to ensure fair treatment of all cases, è stato nominato un giudice per garantire che tutti i casi vengano trattati in maniera imparziale.
